The Theory of the Fog

Process, plan, take action
Clarity
We often wait for clarity before taking action, mistaking overthinking for some kind of safety net. Playing out every scenario in our brain – with infinite outcomes. But all that mental work doesn’t get us anywhere-thoughts are hypothetical, and real progress only begins when you finally make moves. One of the best ways that I use to help conceptualize these things is the theory of ‘The Fog’. When you get into hard times in your journey, we want to know what’s going to happen. We want to know what’s ahead. In the midst of a lot of turmoil or adversity or even just hard training and tournaments, the future can start to get a little blurry. Which is SCARY! It’s just like walking through fog: you can’t see the whole path, only a few steps ahead. Yet every time you move forward, a little more of the road reveals itself. The clarity you’re searching for doesn’t show up while you’re standing still staring off into the distance – it appears because you take action now, not before. The action is in the present. The clarity is in the now.
Organize your thoughts, establish a plan, take action.
