“Navigating the tumultuous world of junior tennis and Player Development is an ever-changing and difficult task. My philosophy is all about making sure that every player gets great information, their skill development and personal growth are maximized, and nurturing the confidence to handle adversity and rise to occasions as a competitor. Proficiency in these areas is the ultimate goal, and the key to making it through to the highest levels. Tough coaching, tough training, and a true sense of accomplishment is vital for confidence building and learning to trust yourself during competition. A clear understanding of the road ahead and a plan for handling the relentlessness of the journey is at the core of what Nallon Performance is all about.”
Peers, Coaches, and Clients
I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredible coaches, families, and players throughout my career. It’s been unbelievably satisfying to watch their lives and paths go on after our tenure together. At the end of the day, all you remember is the relationships and the great stories. Wins and losses maybe a little, but the people and the journey are what you look back on. They all have had just as much of an impact on me as I believe I did with them. Here are some of the things they have shared about me and our time together!

As the Director of Junior Tennis for the USTA Texas Section, I have had the privilege of observing many exceptional leaders in our sport—and Coach John Nallon stands among the very best. From his days as the top-ranked junior in Texas and a nationally elite player, to becoming a nationally recognized coach and program director, John has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary ability not only to develop world-class players, but to build environments where athletes and coaches thrive.
John’s expertise in player development, mental training, and curriculum design has positively influenced thousands of players across Texas and beyond. His passion for guiding athletes to reach their highest potential is evident in every facet of his work. What sets John apart is his unwavering commitment to helping players become the best version of themselves—both on and off the court. His impact on our tennis community is significant and lasting, and I am proud to have him as a leader in Texas tennis.
Julio Godreau
Director of Junior Tennis – USTA TEXAS

I’ve had the privilege of knowing John for over 30 years now. He’s always had an incredibly feisty and focused personality, which is what made him a very good player! He also had very good court sense; which helped his ability to problem solve during points. I say this because now that I have know him as a coach for the last 20 years, he has figured out a way to take his strengths and use them to help develop players of all levels. Whether you want to be the best junior tennis player in the country, or in the world, he has consistently produced players into top colleges and beyond. I’m confident he knows how to help anyone navigate the journey.
Alison Ojeda
Head Coach – University of Tennessee

Coach John has truly contributed to my development as a player and person on and off the court during the over eight years that we worked together. He is so passionate about what he does and pushed me to reach my full potential. Without his guidance and knowledge I would not be where I am today, and he will help anyone else do the same.
Evie Oxford
Former Player – Wake Forest University

I have known John as a player and coach. I have seen him develop his clients as people first, players second. His understanding of the game and his passion for coaching is evident. John is a student of the game and continues to share his love of tennis with his clients and those around.
Grant Chen
SMU Men’s Head Coach
“John Nallon is second to none when it comes to player development. At 14 years old, with hardly any tennis experience or knowledge, I asked him to help me achieve my dream of becoming a Division 1 tennis player. He was brutally honest and told me I was crazy and the chance was less than 1%. Soon after, he also laid out a clear plan for what I needed to do to achieve my goal. I don’t remember an easy day of training. Ever. John helped guide me through the many difficult moments along the journey, making sure I was doing everything possible to succeed, and never left my side while we did it all. After years of pain, grinding, suffering, and a brutal journey…came the best phone call of my life. It was the head coach for TCU. I had achieved my goal and went on to have a successful career playing Division 1 College Tennis. Without his drive and commitment I’m certain this would not have been possible. I’m not sure there’s many people in the country that can cram 10 years worth of tennis into 4 exhausting but fulfilling years. John is one of them.“
Will Stein – TCU Women’s Assistant and Former Player
